Opposition to “Nuclear gambling” at Pickering On May 7, 2014, Ontario Power Generation sought permission from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to run six reactors, all sited on Lake Ontario just a short distance from the City of Toronto, past their predetermined safety limits. The attached 6 interventions were presented, opposing OPG’s request because in their view it is not acceptable to gamble with a potential nuclear disaster.
